Configuring your email client: Outlook Express and Outlook 2002 (Mac Users)
  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts.'


  3. Open the 'Mail' tab, and click 'New.'
  4. Click 'Mail' in the 'New' menu.
  5. Click 'Configure Account Manually.'


  6. Select 'POP,' and click 'OK.'


  7. Enter your name in the 'Name:' field
  8. Enter your full fidnet email address (username@fidnet.com) in the 'Email Address:' field.
  9. Enter your full fidnet email address (username@fidnet.com) in the 'Account ID:' field.
  10. Enter 'pop3.fidnet.com' in the 'POP server:' field.
  11. Enter your password in the 'Receiving mail password:' field.
  12. Check the box next to 'Save password.'
  13. Enter 'smtp.fidnet.com' in the 'SMTP server:' field.
  14. Click 'Click here for advanced receiving options.'


  15. Check the box next to 'SMTP server requires authentication.'
  16. Leave the default 'Use same settings as incoming mail server' button selected.
  17. Close this portion of the dialogue box, and then close the configuration dialogue box.
